  Award-Winning Printing and Finishing

2004 Paragon Award
Monroe Litho produced a viewbook for Herkimer County Community College that recently won a Gold Paragon Award. The 24-page book was described by the judges as: "A spectacular book: marvelous, clean graphics; the highest print quality; totally accessible, good headlines and clear, concise copy; excellent photo selection; clever theme - effective and consistent throughout."

This was the largest competition so far, with over 2,500 entries from throughout North America. Sponsored by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations, the Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community, junior, and technical colleges.

2003 National Benny Award
Monroe Litho received a national quality Benny award for a poster created with our exclusive "Dive-Dull Method." This proprietary technique blends ingredients of certain chemistries, and then applies them in a unique fashion to generate a range of dull-to-gloss reflections.

The process is environmentally safe and does not require special heat or light. It was researched and developed under the direction of our press room manager - and it has been selected by several customers for more prestigious pieces.

A "Benny" is a Best-in-Category designation in the Premier Print Award (PPA) competition. We were competing with thousands of entries from printing companies worldwide. Winners may receive a Certificate of Merit, Award of Achievement, Best of Division, or a Benny.

2004 Rochester Business Ethics Award
Monroe Litho was named the winner of the small business (with fewer than 250 employees) Rochester Business Ethics Award. The judges' panel considered all of the components of business behavior involving clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and employees. The panel was chaired by Monroe County Supreme Court Justice Hon. Francis A. Affronti. The award is sponsored by St. John Fisher College and the Rochester Chapter of Financial Service Professionals.

Forest Stewardship Council's "Chain of Custody" Certification for 2004/Audited and Re-Certified in May 2005
Monroe Litho was the seventh commercial graphic communications company in the U.S. to earn the FSC's "Chain of Custody" Certification. Chain-of-custody is the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution.

FSC is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding solutions to the problems created by bad forestry practices - and to rewarding good forest management. Its trademark provides international recognition to organizations that support the growth of responsible forest management. Only operations that have been independently verified for FSC chain-of-custody certification can label their products with the FSC logo.

From a customer's perspective, the FSC label represents a promise that Monroe Litho is conscientious in the observance of forestry practices - which we prove by using certain specific grades of paper manufactured from timber that has been grown, managed, and harvested under very rigid environmental protocols.

Eastman Kodak Certified Quality Supplier - 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006
In 2003, Monroe Litho was the first commercial graphic communications media company to become a "Certified Quality Supplier" for Eastman Kodak. The Certification was renewed in 2004, 2005 and again in 2006.
